SMYRNA DUNES PARK FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT

Smyrna Dunes Park is my favorite location for New Smyrna Beach Family Photography sessions. Why? Because Dunes Park has beautiful and diverse scenery, including the tallest sand dunes I have seen on the east coast.

DOG FRIENDLY BEACH

Furthermore, the dog beach at Smyrna Dunes Park is the only place in New Smyrna Beach that you can bring your dog to the beach.

So, it is the perfect location for a family beach photoshoot that includes the family dog. Additionally, the soft white sand makes the perfect setting for a sitting family portrait.

BEACH PHOTOSHOOT WEATHER

Because I am a New Smyrna Beach family photographer, I am all too familiar with Florida’s unpredictable weather. Despite the possibility of rain, we decided to move forward with the photography session. I am so thankful that we chose to risk a little rain because the beach was empty and the lighting was perfectly soft. 

As we were taking in the beauty of the scenery, we could see rain clouds forming on the horizon and across the inlet. However, the clouds that were rolling in stayed far enough away for us to finish the entire 30 minute photoshoot.

FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT COMPLETE

Once we finished capturing family photos on the beach, we started to walk back along the boardwalk. Smyrna Dunes Park has a scenic boardwalk that winds through the protected sand dunes. As we strolled back to the parking lot we started to feel light sprinkles of rain drops. 

We made it back to our cars just before the rain started, it was as if the weather was holding out just for us to finish a beautiful New Smyrna Beach family photography session.
