There are plenty of fun things to do in Cocoa Beach, which is why it’s a popular destination for both tourists and locals alike. Whether you are heading to Cocoa Beach for a full vacation or just looking to explore this fun beach for a day – you’ll find plenty to do!
Chill on the Beach
There are 72 miles of golden hued sands in Cocoa Beach. That is a lot of coastline, check out some of the best beaches in Cocoa Beach . Our go-to park is Lori Wilson Park at 1500 N. Atlantic Avenue in Cocoa Beach, FL. Lori Wilson Park offers:

Some other popular beaches in Cocoa Beach are Jetty Park and the Cocoa Beach pier. Canaveral National Seashore’s south entrance is also nearby, which is a national park.
Go Fishing
Many people flock to Cocoa Beach for a laid back fishing day at Jetty Park or the Cocoa Beach pier. The Space Coast has over 500 different kinds of fish , so it’s a great place to relax and cast a line. Redfish, trout, ladyfish and snook are all popular fish in Cocoa Beach.
Surfing
The Atlantic side of Central Florida is a world famous surfing destination that champion surfers call home, like Kelly Slater for example. Even if you don’t know how to surf, you can enjoy surfing lessons from School of Surf. They offer private lessons and group lessons with surfing pros!
Kayak or SUP tour
One of our favorite ways to explore Florida is by kayaking. There are so many diverse species of animals to encounter in the Mosquito lagoon and thousands islands. You can easily go on a tour or rent equipment from Wildlife Watersports.
One of the coolest things to do in this area is a bioluminescence tour. These tours are done at night and I truly feel like it is one of the most incredible experiences to see the water glow as you paddle.
World's Largest Surf Shop
If you have spent any time traveling 95 southbound, then you have probably seen Ron Jon surf shop advertised. It’s a must see if you are coming to Cocoa Beach for the first time, even if for nothing else other than a cute photo op and a souvenir.
Watch a Rocket Launch
You can head to the Westgate Cocoa Beach pier or Jetty Park to watch a rocket launch from the Kennedy Space Center. You can check the launch schedule on the Kennedy Space Center’s website.
Port Canaveral
If you aren’t sailing away on a cruise ship yourself, you can enjoy saying bon voyage while enjoying a tropical cocktail in Cocoa Beach. Watching cruise ships is such a fun thing to in Cocoa Beach. Any of the Cove restaurants at Port Canaveral offer prime seating to watch cruise ships embark.

You can also view cruise ships from Jetty Park. The best time to watch cruise ships is in the afternoon between 4-5pm but be sure to check the sailing schedule to make sure there are cruise ships in port that day.
