You may have heard about Daytona Beach, FL and wondered, is Daytona Beach a nice beach?

While Daytona Beach may not be the best fit for some, it is a nice beach to visit for millions of vacationers each year.

There are parts of Daytona Beach that have a bad reputation as a party beach because of springs breakers.

But is Daytona Beach worth visiting? Yes. And here is why:

Is Daytona Beach a nice beach for families? Absolutely!

Daytona Beach welcomed 10 million visitors in 2019 and continues to be a hot spot of fun for tourists.

Daytona Beach’s 35 miles of white sandy coastline is a playground for the whole family. Build sand castles, lounge in the sun or go boogie boarding. There is fun for all ages at the beach!

Daytona Beach Pier 

Go ocean fishing at Sunglow Pier or grab a bite to eat at Crabby Joe’s Deck & Grill.

Daytona Lagoon

You’ll have a blast at Daytona Beach’s waterpark. Thrilling water slides, an arcade relaxing pools and so much more.

Daytona Lagoon has plenty of things  to do for families in Daytona Beach.

Ponce Inlet

I highly recommend you drive 15-20 minutes south to Ponce Inlet and  tour the lighthouse museum. You can climb to the top of the tallest lighthouse in Florida and enjoy the best view there is of Daytona Beach.

Beach driving is an unforgettable experience and it’s a popular past time in Daytona Beach.

Fun fact: Daytona Beach’s racing roots began here on the hard packed sands of the beaches.

Today you’ll be driving a lot slower but it’s an incredible way to experience a beach day. It also makes it a lot easier to carry all of your beach essentials!

Aside from all of the fun activities & sight seeing, the beaches themselves are a slice of paradise.

The wide beaches are covered in white sand that stays quite cool under the sunny Florida sky.

You can either be right in the action near Ocean Walk or find a quieter stretch of beach down in Daytona Beach Shores.

A convenient beach access is Sun Splash Park, located at

611 S Atlantic Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32118.

It has a playground, free parking, restrooms and showers.

I also highly recommend checking out Ponce Preserve, if you are looking for a more laid back spot.

Ponce preserve has walking trails through scenic & coastal woods with historic live oak trees. A playground, observation tower and beach access with free parking.
