Ponce Inlet Lighthouse: A must see!
Ponce Inlet Lighthouse
We have had such an incredible summer so far! The month of July has been nonstop for us as Daytona Beach portrait photographers, so we have fallen a bit behind on posts. Never fear though because we have SO MANY amazing things to share. Being located in New Smyrna Beach, we specialize in photographing beach portraits. Whenever possible, we love to take our clients to locations that have lighthouse views. Because who doesn’t love a towering, historic and stunning symbol of hope? As a Daytona Beach portrait Photographer, Lighthouse Point Park has a special place on our preferred locations list. It is loaded with natural beauty and with views of the lighthouse like that, it’s obviously a phenomenal place to be photographed with your family. Additionally, it’s a great way to experience the park itself while you are on vacation.
The Ponce De Leon Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in Florida, standing at 175 feet in height. Climbing to the top is a winding stairway of 203 steps but once you reach the top – it’s all worth that impeccable view. This is a must do activity for both visitors and locals, to experience the history of such a breathtaking coastline. We took a family trip to tour the Lighthouse and museum. This was our first time climbing to the top of the lighthouse as a family. The climb wasn’t hard at all but the heat can definitely get to you. Once you step outside, the refreshingly cool air hits you and you become engulfed by the bird’s eye view of Ponce Inlet. The sailboats, the ocean, the waterways and the sandy Beach all culminate to create a scenic gold mine.
We soon made our trek back down to the ground. We headed into the museum where we could enjoy a step back in time. We lingered for a bit looking at all of the displays and then we headed to the gift shop. If you need lighthouse themed anything, take a stroll down to the gift shop!
