There is a wide variety of things to do in Daytona Beach from the outdoors to the arts.
The world famous white sand beaches of Daytona draw millions of visitors each year but there is also plenty of culturally enriching museums and plenty of dining and shopping opons.
What is Daytona Beach famous for?
Daytona Beach is known for its white Sandy beaches, beach driving and hosng the Daytona 500 race.
Daytona Beach has strong roots in racing and it’s the reason beach driving is sll a fun past me in Daytona Beach.
Daytona 500 tour
Even if you aren’t a huge race fan, the Daytona 500 is a lot of fun.
You get to see the track up close and learn lots of fun facts and history about Daytona Beach racing. There are also fun photo ops! Like in the winner’s circle.
Tours run from 9:30am to 3pm and kids under 4 are free. As of 2024, ckets are $26 for adults and $21 for kids over 4.
Beach Driving
Daytona Beach’s 23 miles of hard packed sand make it the perfect beach for driving and made history as the first race track in 1902.
Beach driving remains one of the most memorable and unique things to do in Daytona Beach. Although, racing is now reserved for the actual race track and the speed limit is 10mph.
I highly recommend beach driving as one of the most iconic acvies in Daytona Beach.
You can drive on the beach for $20 per day. And it’s quite a luxury to haul all of your beach gear by car instead of by hand – especially when you have kids like us. Our collecon of sand toys just keeps growing!
Daytona Beach Museum of Arts and Sciences
One of my favorite things to do with kids in Daytona Beach is the Daytona Beach Museum of Arts and Sciences.

The museum has a planetarium, children’s science museum, restored train cars, anques and artwork from a range of cultures.
Lighthouse Point Park & Lighthouse Museum
Tour the second tallest lighthouse in Florida and climb to the top for the best view of Daytona Beach & Ponce Inlet.
Learn all about the history of the Ponce Deleon Lighthouse and view historic Florida arfacts.
Lighthouse Point Park has an expansive boardwalk, fishing pier, dog beach, prisne beach, views of inlet and beauful preserved sand dunes.
Spend the day zip lining through the trees and enjoying a 30 acre park with a lake, disc golf course, fitness trails and picnic tables.

Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens
Located in Port Orange, this scenic botanical garden features scenic nature trails that wind through nave flora and fauna.
See the remnant of a sugar factory and large dinosaur statues from an old theme park.

Shop hundreds of stores and a variety of restaurant opons.
Daytona Lagoon
A water park with lots of fun acvies like go carts, laser tag and a climbing wall.

Dolphin & Manatee Tours
The Indian River Lagoon and Daytona Beach waterways are teeming with biodiversity including dolphins and manatees. You can take boat tours to view local wildlife through the scenic mangroves.
Fishing Charters
Go on saltwater fishing charters and catch fresh fish to bring home with you while experienced local fishermen show you around all of the best spots.
Daytona Beach Boardwalk & Pier
The fishing pier stretches 1,000 feet into the ocean and here is where you can enjoy an amusement park with thrill rides, a variety of Oceanside shoppes and dining opportunies, arcade and there is also the bandshell where local concerts and shows are held.
